How to Find God

One of the most famous instructional books on drawing, and on creativity in general, is the book Drawing on the Right Side of Your Brain by Betty Edwards. What you find in that book is that drawing is less about physical skill, but more about learning how to see.

Similarly, I recall one of the most famous drum instructors in America harping at a bunch of us, “You wanna get better? <dramatic pause> Listen!!!” Music is as much about listening as it is about the muscle movements that create the sound.

To find God, you do both. You look and you listen.

Try it.

If you are honestly seeking and listening, and you will find God.

(Hint: You may need to find a little quiet if you want to be able to hear. This is probably one of the hardest things for most of us to do.)
